Indian Institution of Plant Engineers (IIPE) was established in 1971 with head
Quarters at Madras (now Chennai) and registered under societies registration act XXI of
1860. IIPE was formed to cater to the needs of Practicing Engineers in India in line and
association with the then Institution of Plant Engineers, UK. (Now Society of Operations
Engineers, UK) and Japan Institute of Plant Engineers (JIPE). IIPE was also recognized
as non-profit organization by Govt. of India through an order by Ministry of Finance in
1978.
Plant is typically a site of Machinery and Equipment operated for Industrial and
Manufacturing processes. The Main objective of our institution is to augment skill sets to
its members, equip the Industries, Plant Engineers and stake holders in various facets of
Plant Engineering.
IIPE is dedicated to improving the Effectiveness, Utilization and Productivity with
continuous improvement in Performance, Quality of Plant & Machinery in Industrial
Manufacturing, Processes and Services across all sectors.
IIPE promotes Plant engineering and extends services through:
Dissemination of information and Knowledge in the field of Engineering with special
relevance to the problems faced by Industries.
Continuing Education and Training programmes, organizing Conferences, Exhibitions,
Seminars, Workshops to provide interaction and develop technological and managerial
capabilities among plant professionals.
IIPE is also a member association of Engineering Council of India (ECI)
Corporate Member of National Safety Council (NFC) and Indian Green Building
Council (IGBC)
