F. Başar Yalçıner is Principal Structural Integrity Engineer for oil & gas and offshore assets at NMDC Energy, Abu Dhabi, with 25 years of experience designing oil & gas, offshore and ship structures. He specializes in advanced finite element analysis, fitness-for-service assessment, and the fracture and fatigue integrity of welded structures. He is a member of the API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 Technical Committee and IIW Commissions X and XIII, lectures part-time at Istanbul Gedik University, and is a guest lecturer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Khalifa University.
